Approximately 2 shifts/month

Coverage: 1-2 weekends per month

Anticipated start: Late 2026 or early 2027 , pending credentialing

Friday 10:00 AM - Monday 5:00 AM

Emergent case coverage

Round on existing patients

Manage post-surgical needs as indicated

On call: Yes

Telephone call

30-minute response time

Average approximately 3 calls per weekend

Illinois medical license required to apply

IMLC candidates considered

Preference for candidates currently licensed in Illinois

DEA required

CSR required

Board Certified

Minimum 5 years relevant Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

Prior experience as an employed physician required; experience does not need to be recent

Experience working as an integrated member of a hospital-based surgical team required

Primary focus on CABG cases

Manage and perform CABG procedures if needed

Referrals primarily from Cardiology

AM rounding with additional rounding based on patient condition

Manage post-surgical patients and changes in condition

Average daily census: 7 patients

CVU team helps address questions during rounding to minimize after-hours calls
