Assignment Overview
- Specialty : Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Reason for Coverage : Vacation / Bench Coverage (Additional locum needed)

- Coverage Volume: 0.5 FTE (Minimum candidate commitment: 2 weeks per month)
- Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Call Schedule: Estimated 1:2 weeknight call + every other weekend call + weekend rounding
- Call Rotation Pattern: Provider taking weekend call takes Wed/Thu call the following week; opposite provider covers Mon/Tue & Fri Sun (rotates weekly)
- Credentialing Timeline : days (Clean files only; any malpractice/background requires legal review and may not qualify for locum privileges)
- Licensure : Strongly prefers active Pennsylvania (PA) licensed candidates; will consider IMLC candidates with Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in hand
- Certifications : Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery, ACLS & BLS (American Heart Association, in-person required)
- Experience Required : CT Surgery experience; Robotic experience is preferred but not required
- Patient Volume / Census:
- Inpatient Census: inpatients/day
- Outpatient Volume: Up to 17 clinic patients/day
- Procedures & Case Types: CABGs, Aortic/Mitral valve replacement & repairs, Ascending aortic root work, TAVRs, routine lung/lobectomy, mediastinoscopy
- Surgical Volume: 218 hearts in 2024 ( 147 through August 2025)
- EMR : Epic
- Facility Details: 347-bed hospital (Non-Trauma)
- Daily Rounding: Approximately 4 5 hours per day ( patients); APPs assist with rounding
- Support Staff: APPs (help as first assist and round), RNs, RNFAs, MAs, and 1 full-time CT Surgeon on staff
