Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to provide locum tenens coverage within a growing Cardiothoracic Surgery program. This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled provider who is comfortable working independently in both inpatient and outpatient settings and is experienced in vein harvesting procedures.

The organization is seeking coverage while conducting a search for a permanent team member. Providers with availability for approximately two weeks per month are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Active Kansas license or eligibility through IMLC
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to work independently in a cardiothoracic surgery setting
• Strong vein harvesting experience required (Maquet Vasoview experience preferred)
• Previous cardiothoracic surgery experience strongly preferred

• Cardiothoracic Surgery service line
• Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
• Scheduled clinical hours plus call
• Assigned patient rounding
• Admissions required
• Epic EMR
• 17-bed ICU
• Patient volume:
• 6-10 outpatient visits weekly
• 2-10 inpatient encounters weekly
• Temporary privileges available
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 1 day

Call overage

• Beeper call
• 7 days per week
• Response time: 30 minutes
• Low phone consult volume
• Approximately 50% callback rate
• Coverage for assigned patients only
