Paraprofessional Mentoring ProgramThe Paraprofessional Mentoring Program is designed to support the professional growth, effectiveness, and retention of paraprofessionals by pairing them with experienced staff members. The program focuses on building capacity in instructional support, student engagement, and understanding of school systems while fostering a sense of belonging and professional confidence.Program Goals:Support paraprofessionals in behavioral strategiesStrengthen understanding of classroom expectations and how to support student needsPromote consistency in practices across schools within the districtProvide professional and emotional supportImprove collaboration among staff within the district while understanding each building has unique nuanceCompensation & Hours:Up to 20 hours at usual hourly rate (Subject to change; an example schedule is as follows)New Staff Day (Afternoon within buildings) - 4 hoursMentor / Mentee Meetings - 3 hours (September)Mentor / Mentee Meetings - 2 hours (October - January)Mentor / Mentee Meetings - 1 hour (February - June)Mentor Eligibility Criteria:Have at least one year of experience within the districtBe in good standing with the building principalDemonstrate strong interpersonal and instructional support skillsBe willing to be flexible in meeting the needs of menteesBe recommended or approved by administration
