Support OperatorBAE Systems is seeking a dedicated Support Operator to join our team in Aiken, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for the precision finishing and machining of components, ensuring all parts meet rigorous quality and blueprint specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.Responsibilities:Deburr steel and aluminum parts until the edges are smooth and free of burrsSet machine controls, measure and load tools, fixtures, tapes, and programs, and operate the machineLoad and unload parts onto machines and fixtures from pallets or containersUse hand tools, ratchets, air tools, or other devices to secure parts and fixturesMachine parts to blueprint specificationsCheck parts against quality specificationsTroubleshoot problems and recommend or take corrective actionUse hoists, pallet jacks, or forklifts to move parts, materials, containers, and fixtures to and from storage areasComplete paperwork for work orders, labor and time reporting, quality records, and related reporting requirementsMaintain a clean and safe work areaTrain othersPerform other duties as necessary and appropriate for this positionRequired Education, Experience, & SkillsMust have high school diploma or GEDPreferred Education, Experience, & SkillsAble to apply shop math, read and interpret blueprints, and calculate dimensionsAble to use gages and measuring tools to determine the quality of a partAble to reach up to 50 inches, lift 30 pounds, and apply 30 pounds of torque to ratchets to load and unload parts on machinesAble to understand work orders, machine controls and settings, fixtures, and tool requirements, and make adjustments as neededAble to understand safety policies, procedures, and machine featuresAble to operate hoists, pallet jacks, or forkliftsOperation of a forklift requires passing a certification test and the ability to step up 14 inches onto the vehiclePossesses good analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skillsPossesses good time management and planning skillsPay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $35654 - $57046 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
