Supplier Development EngineerRGBSI A&D is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to serve as an engineering & manufacturing subject matter expert for RGBSI A&D across various programs requiring product/process design and manufacturing knowledge. This role will support the optimization of supplier relationships and their manufacturing processes by conducting supplier audits, supporting accurate completion and review of quality process documentation, and driving process improvements at the supplier level. Your role will involve collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to drive improvements in the supply chain while developing your expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and supplier management.

The Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, analyzing, and reviewing the procedures and processes involved in manufacturing and quality.Responsibilities:Lead the development and innovation of RGBSI A&D branded solutions and offerings to be used across DoD and commercial industry sectorsSupport suppliers in meeting customer specifications and industry standards by assisting with training, audits, and continuous improvement effortsWork with suppliers to address technical issues related to product quality and manufacturing processesIdentify and qualify new manufacturing sources of supply for difficult to procure componentsServe as the technical liaison between design engineers and suppliers to relay manufacturing requirements and request quotes from potential vendorsConduct and review analyses of part production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to implement process controls and better understand future requirements needed for customers' manufacturing processesLead the development and review of design failure mode and effects analyses (DFMEA) and process failure mode and effects analyses (PFMEA) to identify and assess design and manufacturing risksDrive suppliers' execution of required documentation to meet PPAP/FAI accuracy and schedule requirementsDrive technical execution of projects around focus areas of Industry 4.0 / Digital Factory / Model Based Enterprise / Advanced Manufacturing / Additive ManufacturingPerform accurate / professional documentation and presentation of technical data, analyses, and reportsReview manufacturing instructions, methods, and processes to identify and improve customer efficiencyDevelop process strategy documentation outlining the technical and process changes and analysesSupport active feedback between customers, suppliers, and the RGBSI A&D team to drive improvementsPartner effectively with RGBSI A&D project/ program management, technical team, and customer to deliver according to agreed plans and schedulesWork closely with cross-functional teams to identify technical challenges and contribute to solutionsManage deliverables and execute tasks according to schedule with minimal oversightCoach Suppliers through the production planning process, including any RCA or CAPA activities as neededTake part in training programs to enhance your knowledge of supplier development, quality control processes, and advanced manufacturing technologiesMentor junior engineers in manufacturing and quality engineering principlesRequirements:5+ years related manufacturing / quality engineering experienceAbility to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrentlyProficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic data analysis.Expertise in GD&TExperience with assembly, inspection, and testing of machined, forged/cast, or fabricated aerospace partsDemonstrated time management and project management skillsExpertise in creating, editing, and controlling PFMEAs and Control PlansSkills to communicate complex ideas effectively and work with business and technical stakeholdersExcellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influential skillsAvailability for travel to customer locations as required; estimated at up to 40% - client dependentEducation:Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fieldDesired Qualifications:LEAN, Six Sigma, IATF16949, or other process certificationsExpertise in APQP / FAI / PPAP requirementsExperience with additive manufacturing processesExperience with Project Planning tools, such as MS ProjectWe offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, AD&D, tuition reimbursement, and more.
