Electrification is working on the newest drivetrains for the company's products and developing solutions to help our customers deliver sustainable solutions at their job sites. We are not working to fix problems with legacy products, we are developing the future of Caterpillar.Typical task breakdown:- Complete new supplier evaluations.- Assure APQP activities are completed by suppliers.- Manage supplier relationships by leading regular meetings to review and address supplier issues and performance issues.Interaction with team:- Multiple interactions/collaborations with the other SDE's on the team daily.- Frequent interactions with the engineering team.Work environment:- Caterpillar Mossville AC office building - Majority of the team sits together within two rows at this officeCandidate Requirements:Education & Experience Required:- Engineering Bachelor's degree recommended - 5 -7 years related experience recommended- although multiple years of experience is required, not all these years of experience needs to be within purchasing or an SDE role. Cross functional experience within roles such as Manufacturing Engineering and Operation Management, for example, would be accepted.
Experience with electrification and electric drive industries would be a benefit.Technical Skills (Required):- Experience working with suppliers.- Experience reading engineering prints and specifications.- Experience leading cross functional meetings (Desired) - Deep experience working with APQP and PPAP would be highly desired. Manufacturing engineering experience would be preferred.Soft Skills (Required):- Verbal and written communication - Interpersonal - Meeting note taking - Attention to detail. - Strong experience/skills with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
