The Social Work Supervisor - Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) is responsible for the overall administrative and clinical oversight of the IDD program. This role provides leadership, supervision, and quality assurance while ensuring compliance with state, waiver, and funding requirements. The position requires a balance of clinical expertise, operational management, and staff development.

The Social Work Supervisor - Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) is responsible for the overall administrative and clinical oversight of the IDD program. This role provides leadership, supervision, and quality assurance while ensuring compliance with state, waiver, and funding requirements. The position requires a balance of clinical expertise, operational management, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clinical supervision using varied supervisory methodologies
- Manage and respond to crisis situations involving staff and clients
- Train and support staff on electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Review treatment records and reports; guide documentation improvement
- Oversee staff management functions including hiring recommendations, onboarding, scheduling, performance evaluations, discipline, and termination processes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and Total Quality Management activities
- Supervise case consultations and ensure compliance with waiver requirements (Habilitation, Children's Waiver, and other funding sources)
- Ensure staff credentialing, licensure, and training requirements are maintained
- Conduct at least monthly supervision with assigned staff
- Attend community meetings, trainings, and conferences; share relevant updates with leadership
- Utilize EMR data to monitor productivity, waivers, and program performance
- Assess community and client needs; coordinate appropriate services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for smooth program operations
- Complete required documentation, reports, referrals, and paperwork
- Conduct regular staff meetings and maintain accurate records
- Ensure adherence to Person-Centered Planning guidelines
- Maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards (e.g., JCAHO)
- Complete a minimum of 24 hours of role-specific training annually
- Work collaboratively with leadership and finance teams to meet funding and budget guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Active Michigan License (Required):
- LMSW, LLP, or LPC (full license only)
- Must qualify for Children's Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) within 120 days of hire
- Strong crisis management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, adaptable, and culturally competent
- Ability to provide non-judgmental, person-centered care
- Valid driver's license with favorable driving record
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling (Required)
- Minimum 1 year experience treating children and adolescents (Required)
- Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (Required)
- Experience working with waiver programs (Highly Preferred)
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience (Highly Preferred)
- Experience with electronic medical records (Highly Preferred)
- No visa sponsorship available (US Citizens or Permanent Residents only)
- Mileage reimbursement provided when personal vehicle is used (IRS standard rate)
