Quality Control SpecialistThis is a newly created role!Responsibilities:Acquires knowledge of product defects and root cause analysisAcquires knowledge of calculating pass ratesInspects production line and corrects if there are any issuesInspects and approve QC and production paperworkAssists with periodic physical inventory audits (monthly, quarterly, annually)Assist with QC / production trials (weight checks, box weight, mixer checks, etc.)Maintains QC suppliesMaintains QC test instruments and assists with calibrations and calibration trackingTrains QC team members and production operators on QC checks and tolerancesFill in for QC operators during PTO or short-staffedAbility to operate a forkliftPrepares SOPsReports quality issues to QC ManagerOther duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred but Associates degree and / or equivalent years of experienceProven track record in quality improvementManufacturing experience preferred.Experience of R&D in QC or QAExperience in a manufacturing plant such as machinery, equipment, material or construction manufacturerTrainer experience a plusQuality control and / or quality assurance experience is strongly preferredKnowledge of basic math skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is a mustKnowledge of cost accounting, invest planning and feasibility studyExperience of paint color matchingExperience of visual inspectionsSafety:Understands and follow all safety procedures.Current on all safety trainings.Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat or bump cap)Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures.Complete all required General Plant Safety Training as required.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.Must be able to go up and down steps and ladders multiple times a day.Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.Behaviors:Safety:Holds Self and Others accountableContributes to "The Nichiha Way"Shares lessons learned on safety practicesDemonstrates self-care and mutual-careCooperation:Team PlayerTreats others with respectHelps othersCommunicates effectivelyThinks of team before selfPersonal Awareness:Self-awareness of strengths and weaknessesUnderstanding of adhering to company policies and procedures (attendance, timekeeping, housekeeping)Open to constructive feedbackActively seeks ways to developKnowledge and Problem Solving:Effectively assist in resolving issues using job knowledge and skillsAble to identify issues and actively seeks to resolveOffers pragmatic solutionsContinuously seeks new and innovative work methodsImitative and Productivity:Understands performance expectations (quality, timeliness)Strives to improve efficiency / bottleneck issuesAdaptive to new ways of improvementQuestions current status for improvementsEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
