Supervisor, Microbiology Laboratory

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for QC Microbiological laboratory activities and testing related to the production of products at SAI. This includes routine testing of raw materials, bulk, WIP and finished goods, as well as equipment qualification, maintenance and calibration.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Supervise the work of microbiologists and lab technicians in the QC lab
- Ensure all inspections, testing and OTC documentation, including SOPs are current and systematically stored
- Review and approve equipment calibrations and validations
- Review and approve work instructions
- Perform OOS investigations and maintain records according to GMP requirements
- Review and approve PET reports
- Review and approve vendor contracts
- Maintain instruments and lab supplies inventory
- Train and evaluate the performance of QC microbiological lab staff
- Manage staff time and schedule, and perform reviews of laboratory personnel
- Control and monitor the budget for the department
- Research and recommend different ways of doing lab work or the flow of material in the lab such as automation to improve efficiency, cost and competitiveness in the market
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in microbiology or related life science
- 5+ years of experience in a GMP GC environment
- Extensive knowledge of cGMP, ISO, USP & PCPC guidelines
- Open-minded, self-confident, self-motivated, mature, personable and cooperative
- Enthusiastic about problem-solving and motivational towards the team
