About This Role

The Supervisor, Behavioral Health Utilization Management oversees the behavioral health utilization review clinicians to ensure appropriate care for members and manages the day-to-day activities of the behavioral health utilization management team.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise behavioral health (BH) utilization review clinicians and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.
  • Monitor and track UM BH resources to ensure adherence to performance, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Resolve complex BH care member issues related to BH with the utilization management team.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations, accreditation standards, and industry best practices related to BH utilization management.
  • Identify opportunities for process and quality improvements within utilization management.
  • Educate and provide resources for the BH utilization management team on key initiatives.
  • Develop and implement UM policies, procedures, and guidelines with senior management.
  • Evaluate BH utilization management team performance and provide feedback.
  • Provide coaching and guidance for optimal performance management.
  • Assist with onboarding, hiring, and training BH utilization management team members.

Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's degree required

Experience

  • 4+ years of related experience required
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • LCSW (License Clinical Social Worker) - required, OR
  • LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) - required, OR
  • LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) - required, OR
  • LMFT (Licensed Marital and Family Therapist) - required, OR
  • LMHP (Licensed Mental Health Professional) - required, OR
  • RN (Registered Nurse) - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required, OR
  • BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) - required
