About The Role
Equipped with an opportunity to lead a rapidly growing clinical care team, this role serves patients ages 6‑99 with eating disorders through a 100% virtual Telehealth platform. The position is remote, full‑time and salaried with flexible hours. Priority is given to afternoon and early‑evening hours in your time zone. Physicians are essential members of Equip’s multidisciplinary virtual treatment team, working alongside a therapist, dietitian, peer mentor, and family mentor to help patients recover from eating disorders.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive medical assessments and evidence‑based treatment for co‑occurring medical conditions related to an eating disorder while supporting families throughout recovery.
- Monitor vital signs, labs, and other medical data to ensure medical stability, collaborating with medical assistants and nurses on record collection, vital sign checks, lab ordering, medication management, and care coordination with outside providers.
- Collaborate on a multidisciplinary treatment team with medical providers, therapists, dietitians, peer mentors, and family mentors to provide medical guidelines and treatment.
- Communicate via electronic medical record messaging to support patients and team members.
- Communicate and collaborate with outside providers.
- Document effectively and in a timely manner within Equip’s electronic medical record in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in Treatment Team meetings, supervision, continuing education, and department meetings.
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff and advanced practice providers while collaborating with physician colleagues to ensure optimal patient care.
- Ability and willingness to pursue licensure in all 50 states.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification in family medicine or dual certification in internal medicine and pediatrics.
- Must be able to see patients across the lifespan.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in one or more states, with willingness to obtain additional licenses as needed (Equip supports licensing costs).
- 3+ years of clinical practice with demonstrated experience supervising advanced practice providers.
- Proven ability to excel in high‑acuity, high‑volume clinical environments with experience in telehealth or virtual care delivery strongly preferred.
- Experience in eating disorder medical management and evidence‑based practices, including monitoring medical stability and coordinating care.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a track history of collaboration with diverse teams and external providers.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical and organizational priorities, demonstrating strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Clinical maturity to navigate complex cases while maintaining therapeutic relationships and providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.
- Comfortable with startup pace and change.
- We are open to all locations; ideal candidates will be able to work during PT or MT hours as required.
Time Expectations
- Direct Patient Care: up to 75% of your time is in direct patient care.
- Care team members are expected to be available beyond traditional clinical hours to meet patient needs and scheduling demands.
- Weekly Supervision of APPs.

Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
