Construction Superintendent – Commercial Construction
Location: Myrtle Beach, SC
Salary: Up to $150,000 + Benefits
A well-established commercial general contractor is looking to add a Superintendent to its team in the Myrtle Beach area.
The company is part of a larger construction group with approximately 2,500 employees across multiple divisions, including commercial construction, sitework, electrical, concrete and heavy industrial. The commercial construction division has around 160–170 employees and has been established in the Carolinas for many years.
The Myrtle Beach team has a strong pipeline of education projects, including work with local K–12 school districts and an upcoming project with Coastal Carolina University.
The Role
The Superintendent will take responsibility for the day-to-day field operations of assigned projects, working closely with the Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to a high standard.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations
- Coordinating subcontractors and field personnel
- Maintaining project schedules and identifying potential delays
- Reviewing plans, drawings and specifications
- Managing site safety, quality control and inspections
- Coordinating materials, manpower and equipment
- Attending project meetings and communicating with the project team
- Resolving issues in the field and keeping projects moving
- Maintaining daily reports and project documentation
What They're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
- Commercial construction experience
- Strong understanding of plans, schedules and field operations
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Strong focus on safety and quality
- Education, institutional or similar commercial experience is preferred but not essential
