Build Projects That Matter East & Westbrook Construction is seeking an experienced General Contracting Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial, industrial, and specialty construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day jobsite operations, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and driving a strong safety culture. We are looking for a hands‑on leader who can solve problems, communicate effectively with owners and subcontractors, and keep projects moving safely, on schedule, and on budget.
What You’ll Do
- Manage all day‑to‑day field operations on assigned construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules and drive progress toward key milestones.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Conduct safety meetings, jobsite inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Owners throughout project execution.
- Complete daily reports, project documentation, and progress updates.
- Manage material deliveries, site logistics, and workforce planning.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of superintendent experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, institutional, or general construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proven ability to lead subcontractors and field teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Experience managing large commercial or industrial construction projects.
