Role: Superintendent
Location: Washington, DC
Salary: $90,000–$120,000 + Benefits
Our client, a respected General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee work issued under a federal JOC/IDIQ program. This role will involve managing diverse construction scopes across government facilities and requires strong leadership, compliance knowledge, and field management skills.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience serving as a Superintendent on large-scale, multi-trade projects.
- Current U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.
- Must meet eligibility for Architect of the Capitol (AOC) approval.
- Proven background in coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety standards, and delivering high-quality work on federal or government-related projects.
Project Types You’ll Oversee
Task orders may cover a wide range of services, including:
- Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC systems
- Power & emergency backup systems
- Elevators, escalators, and moving walkways
- Roofing (new and replacement), waterproofing, façade restoration
- Concrete, plaster, painting, and decorative finishes
- Fire alarm & sprinkler installations
- Hazmat remediation & demolition
- Site work, paving, and civil utilities (stormwater, water/wastewater)
- Interior renovations, office fit-outs, and temporary facilities
- Playground equipment and miscellaneous construction scopes
The Right Candidate
You’re a seasoned field leader who thrives in complex, multi-trade environments. You have a proven ability to coordinate diverse teams, manage schedules and budgets, and maintain compliance with federal standards. You’re also comfortable working directly with owners, government representatives, and project stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification.
