Job Title
Assist the classroom teacher in providing or reinforcing instruction in an assigned special education program, such as Autistic (AUT), Communicatively Disabled (CD), Developmentally Disabled (DD), Designated Instruction Services (DIS), Emotionally Disturbed (ED), Learning Disabled (LD), Orthopedically Impaired (OI), Resources Specialist Programs (RSP), Severely Disabled (SD), and Visually Impaired (VI). Assist with the preparation of instructional materials; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; perform a variety of clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school, one year of experience working with individuals or students in an organized setting, one of the following: * completion of at least two years of study (48 semester units) in an institution of higher education or *associate's degree or * pass the district paraprofessional test, No Child Left Behind (NCLB) compliant. Substitutes work on call as needed at various site and department locations. **This is a continuous posting for the 2026/ 2027 school year which is scheduled to open on August 19, 2024. Every few months we will invite interested applicants for an interview. We will screen periodically during the school year and will email qualified applicants at that time. We are Pre K- 12th grade district.
