Substitute Secretary District Wide 26-27 Sy$26.63 - 26.63 per hourMMSD is seeking highly motivated and energetic applicants for openings for the school year. Applicants should have a good attitude, ability to create a welcoming environment, a willingness to learn, and passion for impactful work and learning.Under general supervision of an administrator/School Principal performs secretarial and clerical tasks. Must have the ability to perform in a dynamic environment and exemplify professionalism with an upbeat attitude to ensure efficient operations within the office. Clerks must provide professional communication in person, via phone, and email. Familiarity with a wide range of administrative concepts, practices, and procedures is preferable.This is a high visibility position. The first contact for students, visitors, staff, and families calling or entering the school campus for support. A wide degree of creativity, competency, and latitude is expected.Job Duties:Provide Front Desk Customer AssistanceSupport Substitute Teachers, Substitute Special Education Assistants, etc.Support staff and family communicationAssist students on a daily basis with day-to-day needs, questions, and concerns in a fast-paced environmentAssist staff, volunteers and parents with various questions and concernsDistribute and maintain records for Metro Bus passesAssist with the coordination of substitutes in the morningsAssist with running electronic sign inRelated duties as assigned; examples include:Maintain payroll exception form for class coverageProcess student feesMaintain class size records, class lists and student attendance records, including tardinessProcesses memos, letters, reports, and correspondenceCreate and manage student behavioral files as needed:Minimum Qualifications:Secretarial experience or a closely related customer service experienceKnowledge of current technologyHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward one's own cultural competence (i.e., valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas)Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, email, and other related technologyExperience working with children and youthExperience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one's own cultural competence, i.e., valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one's skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas.Desired Qualifications:Bilingual language proficiency in Spanish and English and/or Hmong and EnglishExperience using employee database applicationsExperience in the use of student data information systemsExperience working in a school setting working directly with students who are considered "at-risk"Position Competencies:High Expectations For Every Student: Ability to demonstrate, through actions and words, that every student can achieve high standards.
