Elementary SecretaryTo serve the Building Principal by assuming routine tasks and delegated work so that the Principal can devote maximum attention to the management of his/her position.Essential Functions (May Include):Greet visitors, work with students, parents, and staff.Answer telephone and intercom calls.Security watch-view entrances for visitors provide sign-in badges for all visitors.Take daily-computerized attendance for staff and students. Custody information; Maintain attendance records; file attendance.Maintain general office files; Student cum files; bus information; serve as PTA liaison.Answer front and back doorbells.Keep office in orderly, efficient and friendly manner.Distribute mail and courier items and attend to teacher mailboxes.Complete misc. programs given by principal.Unpack and shelf office supplies.Operate copying machine.Operate telecommunications system.Assume any other responsibilities or tasks directed to her by the principal.Maintain class lists/new enrollments and withdrawals.Maintain safety records, including fire drill forms, emergency procedure information, building crisis plan.Knowledge & Skill Requirement:Education: High School DiplomaCertification:Experience: Stenographic skills (computer skills, keyboarding, and knowledge of all general office machines.
Experience as a secretary.
Experience and ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, make decisions within the scope of authority granted, and have the ability to work under pressure.
