Responsibilities:
- Help students develop and observe proper rules and procedures
- Monitor and maintain behavior and reinforce acceptable behavior, promote wholesome intra-school and community-school relations
- When needed, organize students into orderly groups to assist them in their assigned areas
- Inform the teacher or Principal of any serious infraction of disciplinary rules by students
- Assist with setting up and using instructional equipment such as computers, audiovisual equipment, and related technology
- Maintain the confidentiality of student/staff information and records, and student behavior
- Monitor activities in the hall, lavatory, recess, lunch, playground, classroom, or wherever assigned including, but not limited to, emergency drills and assemblies
- Assist with other duties such as planning activities, preparing instructional materials and classroom records and assisting with the organization of various activities from beginning to end
- Implement and execute provisions of State Statutes, Board Policies and Administrative rules and regulations
- Deal with occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and students with various illnesses
- Interact with a diverse student population
- Handle interactions among unruly children
- Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as directed
