The Oregon City School District is seeking highly motivated, adaptable, and supportive professionals to join our internal pool of Classified Substitute Instructional Assistants. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed teachers to maintain educational continuity, provide essential student support, and ensure a safe, engaging learning atmosphere across diverse classroom environments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Provide one-on-one student assistance or support small groups within Special Education or general education classrooms.
- Classroom Supervisions: Supervise students during recess periods, in the classroom, and in common areas to maintain safety and structure.
- Adaptable Service: Perform diverse duties as assigned across various school sites from Kindergarten through 12th grade, adapting to changing daily tasks.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work harmoniously with teachers, students, administrators, and other district staff.
- Background Clearance: Applicants must be fingerprinted and successfully complete a comprehensive criminal records check.
- Educational Background: Seventy-two (72) credit hours of post-high school studies, an earned Associate's Degree or higher, or a passing score on the National Career Readiness test is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Prior experience working with school-age students is preferred but not required.
- Core Competencies: Ability to take direction appropriately, maintain a dependable and flexible schedule, and demonstrate strong adaptability.
- Mandatory Training: Completion of annual training modules is required.
- Rate of Pay: $23.70 per hour.
- Schedule: Day-to-day, on-call assignments based on district needs and your personal availability.
