Substitute Educational Assistant - Daycare

Daycare Assistant

To perform instructional duties, supervision duties, and clerical duties in support of lead daycare staff.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare activity materials as directed
2. Oversee group activities as directed.
3. Instruct small groups of children.
4. Run errands
5. Assist teacher with student activities.
6. Other duties as assigned

Other Job Functions:

1. Supervise student activities.
2. Supervise student outside the classroom.
3. Other related tasks as directed

Qualifications:

Knowledge of:

1. Maintaining harmonious working relationship with coworkers & staff
2. Working with children.
3. General knowledge of office equipment.
4. Word processing skills
5. Preference given to bilingual speaker

Ability To:

1. Follow oral and written instructions.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain composure in stressful situations.
4. Be well groomed and maintain an appropriate appearance.
5. Maintain regular attendance

Experience:

1. Prior classroom assistant experience desired.
2. Two-year degree preferred.

License:

1. Attained at the age of 18 with high school diploma

Physical Requirements:

In an eight-hour day, employee may:

1. Stand/Walk 5-6 Hours
2. Drive 1-2 Hours
3. Sit 3-4 Hours
4. Stoop/Squat/Bend 1-2 Hours
5. Lift/Carry 1-2 Hours Up to a weight of 50 lbs
6. Climb Stairs Occasionally
7. Use hands for repetitive motions Frequently
8. Use feet for repetitive movements Frequently
