We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to fill the role of Substitute Custodian. This position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Substitute Custodian will step in as needed to ensure that all custodial duties are performed efficiently and effectively, supporting the overall operations of our facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the building.
• Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring they are maintained to high hygiene standards.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
• Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow established procedures for cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and practices at all times.
• Support the custodial team with special projects as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.
• Must pass a background check as required by law.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is a plus.
