Substitute Cook

North Daviess R-III is seeking dependable substitute cooks to assist with preparing and serving school meals when regular food service staff are absent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and serving spaces.
• Assist with dishwashing, food storage, and kitchen organization.
• Follow directions regarding food allergies and special dietary needs.
• Work cooperatively with school staff to provide friendly, efficient meal service.
• Follow district policies and maintain student confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to safely perform essential kitchen duties, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
• Complete required background checks and district employment requirements.
• Food service experience preferred but not required.

Schedule:

As needed, based on staff absences. Students generally attend Tuesday through Friday.
