Substation Engineering Lead - Physical - Remote (U.S.)AECOM has a position available for a Substation Engineering Lead with a specialization in utility substation design. The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the physical design of utility scale substation development.The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to:Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for substation scopes.Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sections.Provides input for the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances.Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work.Remove any impediments that are obstructing the engineering team from achieving its goals.Works to advise Management about how to maximize ROI for the team.Attending all client technical review meetings.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Minimum 6 years of relevant high voltage substation design (physical) experienceProfessional engineer license (PE)Experience with use of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStationExperience with use of CDEGS, WinIGSPreferred Qualifications:Proficiency in assessing mechanical forces and thermal effects of high fault currents on rigid busKnowledge of construction practices and constructabilityExperience with proposal writing and project estimatingWorking knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes2+ years of overseeing and managing a project teamAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments.Superior Verbal & Written CommunicationsGood knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations.Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety CodeAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this roleSponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position.
