About The Client:

Our client are a well-established engineering consulting firm with decades of experience, active in electric utility and gas projects, including substations, T&D, and renewables.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently lead the design and modification of new and existing substation facilities.
  • Prepare project scopes, conceptual site layouts, single-line diagrams, budget estimates, and engineering documentation.
  • Produce and update detailed substation drawings using CAD software.
  • Revise as-built drawings based on field verification and construction changes.
  • Design site grading plans and develop Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) containment systems.
  • Create detailed engineering packages, including grounding plans, conduit routing, equipment layouts, and control building designs.
  • Prepare complete technical specifications, construction drawings, and bid documentation.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Perform field inspections to validate construction quality and verify design implementation.


The successful candidate must have/show:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 4+ years experience in substation design.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical documentation and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of substation equipment, including power transformers, circuit breakers, capacitor banks, and related infrastructure.
  • Desire to progress.
  • Great communication skills.
