Position Description
Overview:
The Substation Assembler is a key member of our substation construction crew, helping build and commission medium and high-voltage substations across various job sites. This is an entry-level, hands-on role with opportunities for growth. Assemblers work closely with the Leadman and team to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the installation of substation components: foundations, grounding, steel structures, equipment, conduit, wiring, and bus work.
• Operate or assist with equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, man lifts, and crane trucks.
• Support site prep, demolition, and new construction efforts.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards.
• Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
• No experience required - training provided.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and tape measurements.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home as needed.
• Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
Required Physical Work Demands:
Must be able to meet the physical demands of substation construction, including:
• Regularly lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing throughout the workday.
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind).
• Performing physical tasks for extended periods, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Safely wearing and working in PPE such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and arc flash suits.
