Description

ACI is a Woman‑Owned Small Business professional services provider of engineering and technical services to the United States Government. We seek an experienced Mobile Handheld Fires Action Officer to serve as part of ACI’s Emerging Technologies team, which supports PEO Soldier.

Position Description

The Mobile Hand‑Held Fires Action Officer functions as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for dismounted fires and targeting systems within PM Soldier Warrior. The position is responsible for the end‑to‑end capability lifecycle of mobile, handheld fire support systems, including requirements definition, systems integration, testing and evaluation, fielding, and sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary fires SME for mobile targeting systems
  • Provide operational input into system requirements and design
  • Provide input on preventive maintenance practices, inspections, and fault identification during testing and fielding
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and working groups
  • Support Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), and Soldier touchpoints
  • Evaluate system performance in target acquisition and sensor‑to‑shooter timelines
  • Coordinate with Fires units, PM SWAR stakeholders, and Joint partners
  • Support fielding and New Equipment Training (NET)
  • Contribute to CONOPS and TTP development
  • Prepare executive briefings and program documentation
  • Identify capability gaps and modernization opportunities

Ideal Candidate

  • Dynamic: contributes energy and enthusiasm to our daily tasks, to the team’s interactions, and to the Company’s mission.
  • Thorough: possesses an unparalleled work ethic; produces complete, even polished products; persistent; mission‑focused; asks “Why?” as often as necessary to get to the root of the matter.
  • Mature: respects others’ opinions, beliefs, and culture; listens to ideas, shares thoughts, and works independently and together to contribute insights to the company’s leaders.
  • Forthright: speaks with conviction; argues based on understanding, respectfully.
  • Inquisitive: seeks deeper explanations of how systems work, not the surface‑level description of the actors involved; goes beyond “stick‑fetching” to connect the unconnected.
  • Timely: shows up, ready to think, prepared to get on with the day’s assignments; contributes analytical insights that meet time‑sensitive, reasonable requests.
  • Honest: knows what’s right, what’s legal, what’s appropriate; acts accordingly.
