SUBCONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR – FEDERAL / DoD PRIME CONTRACTOR

Tysons, VA | 100% Onsite at Corporate HQ

Direct Hire | Full-Time

Supply Chain or Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred

Federal / DoD | Prime Contracting | Subcontracts | Procurement

If you've built your subcontracting experience on the PRIME CONTRACTOR side of federal/DoD work, I want to talk to you!

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a large, highly established engineering and mission-critical solutions organization seeking a Subcontracts Administrator to join its growing corporate procurement team in Tysons, VA.

We're especially interested in an early-career Subcontracts professional with 2+ years of experience who wants to deepen their expertise, gain exposure to increasingly complex subcontract activity and build a long-term career within a sophisticated federal/DoD prime-contracting environment.

THE BACKGROUND WE WANT:

✔ Bachelor's degree REQUIRED

✔ Supply Chain Management or Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred

✔ 2+ years of Subcontracts, Procurement, Supply Chain or closely related experience

✔ Experience working for a federal / DoD PRIME CONTRACTOR

✔ Hands-on experience supporting the subcontract lifecycle

✔ Experience developing RFQs/RFPs/solicitations and evaluating supplier/subcontractor proposals

✔ Experience with price & cost analysis

✔ Experience negotiating pricing, terms, conditions & subcontract provisions

✔ Strong supplier / subcontractor relationship management

✔ Understanding of procurement principles, contracts, finance/accounting and commercial terms

✔ Ability to manage multiple priorities and increasingly complex assignments with limited direction

⭐ PRIME-CONTRACTOR EXPERIENCE IS THE KEY:

We're specifically looking for candidates who understand the relationship between a major prime contractor and the subcontractors/vendors it engages to execute work for federal, defense and other highly regulated customers.

That means experience helping:

Solicit → Evaluate → Negotiate → Award → Administer → Manage Subcontractor Performance

We're looking for someone who understands how a prime contractor buys and manages subcontracted services and scope — not simply someone who has purchased materials or processed purchase orders.

WHERE YOUR EXPERIENCE MAY COME FROM :

Ideal candidates may currently work for a:

Federal Prime Contractor | DoD Contractor | Defense Contractor | Government Services Contractor | Engineering / EPC Contractor | Mission-Critical Infrastructure Contractor | Federal Facilities / O&M Contractor

Your resume might include titles such as:

Subcontracts Administrator | Subcontract Administrator | Subcontracts Specialist | Subcontracts Analyst | Procurement Specialist | Procurement Analyst | Buyer | Supply Chain Specialist | Contracts & Subcontracts Specialist

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION:

Experience working directly for a federal government agency is different from the prime-contractor subcontract administration experience we're targeting for this particular position.

We're specifically seeking candidates who have worked inside a prime-contracting organization , where they supported the solicitation, negotiation, award and administration of subcontractors/vendors performing portions of the prime's contractual scope.

If you've worked for a DoD/federal prime contractor managing its subcontractor relationships , that's exactly the type of experience we'd love to see.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Develop & administer subcontracts

• Create RFQs/RFPs and complex solicitations

• Evaluate subcontractor proposals

• Conduct price & cost analysis

• Negotiate pricing, terms & commercial conditions

• Support subcontract awards

• Administer subcontract requirements throughout performance

• Partner with internal program & operational teams

• Manage supplier/subcontractor communications

• Support compliance with contractual & procurement requirements

• Resolve subcontract performance and commercial issues

• Recommend procurement/process improvements

• Manage increasingly complex subcontract assignments with greater independence

Targeting approximately:

4–6 years of relevant experience: Approximately $95K–$100K

+ Annual bonus + Expedited career growth + Stellar benefits + Tuition reimbursement & continuing education

Final compensation will depend on directly relevant experience and qualifications.

IMPORTANT :

This position is 100% onsite in Tysons, VA at the organization's corporate headquarters.

Candidates should be comfortable commuting onsite on a full-time basis.

WHO WILL REALLY STAND OUT?

Someone early enough in their career to be hungry to learn and grow , but experienced enough to already understand:

How does a prime contractor source subcontractors?

How do you build and evaluate a solicitation?

How do you analyze pricing and cost?

How do you negotiate subcontract terms?

How do you administer the subcontract after award?

How do you protect the prime while maintaining a productive subcontractor relationship?

If that sounds like the work you're doing today — particularly within a federal or DoD prime contractor — I'd love to speak with you.
