Sub-System Technical Lead (SSTL) For Hardware EngineeringStellantis is seeking a Sub-System Technical Lead (SSTL) for Hardware Engineering. The SSTL will lead Design Release Engineers (DREs) and cross-functional support teams to drive component development from sourcing through industrialization. This role will interface with the Chief Vehicle Engineer, Program Managers, and Subsystem Technical Managers to ensure timely component delivery to the plant with robust planning, high quality, and precision.Key Responsibilities:Drive engineering changes (Change Notices / Common Change Documents)Author deviations (IAA) and manage Plant Evaluation Runs (PER)Lead design, development, and validation of hardware and associated software componentsCoordinate cross-functional teams to meet program and production timelinesInfluence and align internal stakeholders to approve design and process changesGuide Design Release Engineers through the industrialization processThis position requires strong matrix leadership of design and development engineers to achieve program objectives.

The SSTL will also work closely with and take direction from the Electrical Sub-System Technical Manager (SSTM). This role supports that vision, particularly in the context of increasing vehicle electrification and software integration.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited universityMinimum of 8 years of experience in automotive component developmentAbility to manage and prioritize tasks across multiple products and suppliersWorking knowledge of automotive electrical architectures (CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet)Experience leading cross-functional teamsKnowledge of electrical component manufacturing processesProficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace toolsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to clearly communicate complex engineering concepts to senior leadershipVehicle launch experiencePreferred Qualifications:10+ years of experience in automotive component developmentExperience with body controllers, zonal computing, and vehicle access/security systemsMaster of Science degree in Engineering or related fieldBlack Belt certification in DFSS or reactive problem-solving methodologies
