What You'll Do as a Rad Tech U
Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols.
Ensure patient safety through proper positioning, radiation protection, and adherence to imaging standards.
Operate and maintain imaging equipment; report or troubleshoot technical issues appropriately.
Document imaging procedures accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Provide clear instructions and compassionate support to patients before, during, and after imaging.
Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and care teams to support timely diagnostic services.
Follow all hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
Completion of a Medical X-ray Operator-Limited Certification program from a State Division of Health-Related Boards.
Experience:
Clinical radiographic experience obtained through an AMA-accredited radiologic facility.
Licenses/Certifications:
Medical X-ray Operator-Limited Certification required.
Ability to complete Radiologic Technologist (limited diagnostic X-ray) orientation.
Must be able to perform diagnostic X-rays as outlined on the state certification performance card.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication and patient-interaction skills.
Ability to deliver safe, effective imaging within licensure and certification scope.
Proficiency in imaging protocols and equipment operation.
High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and safety.
Excellent customer service and teamwork abilities.
Physical & Work Environment
- Standing and walking for 8+ hours per shift; frequent patient mobilization.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull 50+ lbs regularly.
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor movement.
- Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and equipment-related hazards.
- Irregular hours may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays; on-call as needed.
