ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels. ASUN is seeking to hire Communication Coordinators for the Department of Campus & Public Relations.ResponsibilitiesTo act in accordance with and support the Director & Assistant Director of Campus & Public Relations.To assist with departmental strategic plans and objectives.To focus on increasing the visibility of the association in the greater campus, local, state, and national communities.Produce multimedia content to release weekly updates to the students about ASUN, including but not limited to new initiatives, allocations of funds, passed legislation, and upcoming events.To cross-promote relevant content between the association's digital media platforms, including but not limited to newsletters, blog posts, and social media.Oversee & guide marketing positions within ASUN.Attend the ASUN Senate meetings weekly OR biweekly.Create weekly legislation digests for social media to extend transparency between the association and students.Aid the director with creating social media posts for the president.Aid the assistant director with the department's internship.To ensure that the association's multimedia-content and ASUN website are compliant with necessary accommodations set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act.To attend all ASUN retreats and trainings as decided by the Assistant Director of Campus & Public Relations and the Director of Executive Outreach.Required QualificationsCandidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, RenoMaintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 creditsPerform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing DocumentsUphold the Nevada Student Code of ConductMeet all deadlines set forth, attend all required meetings and training, work scheduled hours, properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time, assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada, behave in a manner that is ethical, maintain a high level of integrityOther duties as called upon the positionPreferred QualificationsExperience in fields such as marketing, journalism, communication studies, and/or related fields through course of study, previous work experience, or extracurricular activitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills to positively represent the Executive Branch internally and externallyMotivation to further the goals and initiatives under the We Are Nevada platform through:Collaborating with the Center for Student Engagement and other campus departments to increase students' awareness of access to resources to further their successCoordinating campus-wide surveys to undergraduate students with the Director of Executive OutreachMeeting consistently with student groups on campus to formulate initiatives andavenues of support pertinent to the limitation and duties of the Executive BranchExtending participation in and awareness of the Pack Friendly Business Program with t he ASUN Vice PresidentAbility to work effectively and respectfully with politically, ideologically, and culturally diverse people and communitiesExcellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment with multiple projectsFlexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasksCompensation Grade Student Employee Level 1 $3,000 distributed evenly over a 12-month period in a single-term
