Student Transportation Support - Ed Tech I, II, III or Admin Assistant

Educational Technician I, II, III or Administrative Assistant Student Transportation Support (Part-Time)Biddeford School department is seeking an educational technician or administrative assistant for student transportation support at Biddeford Primary School. This part-time position involves up to three hours per week, typically between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM, one to two days per week, depending on transportation needs.The ideal candidate will have appropriate Maine Department of Education certification as an educational technician I, coursework in education or a related field, and safety care training. They should demonstrate the ability to work calmly and effectively with students, flexibility to work variable hours, and reliable transportation.The position reports to the building principal and involves supervising students who have been returned to school due to the absence of authorized adults at their bus stops.

The technician will ensure student safety and well-being while awaiting parent/guardian pickup and assist with general office and building duties when no students require supervision.Essential skills include the ability to remain calm and supportive with students in distress, strong de-escalation and crisis management skills, excellent judgment in assessing student needs and safety concerns, and professional and compassionate communication with families in difficult situations.The position is part-time, variable-hour, and compensation ranges from $21.70 to $32.67 per hour, pro-rated for hours worked.The Biddeford School Department is an equal opportunity employer and reserves the right to modify job responsibilities as needed to meet operational requirements.
