Theatre Administration AssistantThe Theatre Administration Assistant assists program faculty in the areas of Practicum, Box Office, Front-of-House, and with other tasks as needed to support the functions of the degree program. Applicant must be available to work in person, on campus with program faculty and students.QualificationsAvailable to work in person ONE hour rotating weekday Box Office shift, Monday-FridayPerformance shifts on October 7-13, November 4-9, and December 1-5, 2026 Performance shift times varyPerformance shifts for Spring 2027 TBATotal of up to FIVE scheduled hours weekly; more weekly hours scheduled at the discretion of the program faculty supervisor.Successful completion of at least TWO of the following courses: THEA 15000, THEA 15200, THEA 25100, and/or THEA 25101Experience working/interning in Front-of-House at a theatre or other performing arts companyExperience working/interning in customer-facing position(s)Experience communicating with patrons verbally in-person and on the phone, and written communication skillsDemonstrable attention to accuracyDesire to work as a member of a teamDesire to work with Theatre Administration facultyPreferred Experience and Skills:Experience working/interning in customer-facing position(s), preferably in Box Office or Front-of-House position(s)Experience handling and reconciling cash, credit, and debit transactionsStrong time and task management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDuties and Responsibilities:Learn and demonstrate increasing knowledge of: Front of House operations, including but not limited to, Box Office, Concessions, House Management, Opening Night Receptions and the Center for Theatre and Dance Front-of-House and Box Office policies and proceduresTheatre seating mapsTicket scanning for printed tickets, print-at-home tickets, and tickets emailed to digital devicesEach production's length, performance dates, curtain and run timesDirections to and parking solutions for patrons of MTD productionsThe audience experience and their specific day/night-of-show scenariosAssist patrons purchasing tickets and resolve ticketing and seating issuesTroubleshoot discrepancies in cash/credit/debit transactionsModel appropriate professional behavior and attire as detailed in program documentsDocument and report problems and diversions from policy and procedure to the program facultyFollow through on delegated instructionsLearn and apply new skills, processes, and procedures and assist co-workers to do similarlyOther duties as assignedPerformance Review:A performance review for successful applicants will be completed during the last week of classes of FALL 2026 to determine continuation of employment through SPRING SEMESTER 2027.Hours: dependent on schedule; varies by weekSupervisor: Angela Branneman ( )Applications are due no later than Monday, August 10 at 10:00am.Ithaca College is committed to building a diverse academic community and encourages members of underrepresented groups to apply.
