Job Summary/Basic Function
The Student Success Outreach Specialist serves as a key member of the Student Success Programs team by supporting proactive outreach initiatives designed to improve student persistence, engagement, and academic success. This position assists with identifying students who may benefit from early intervention, conducting outreach through multiple communication platforms, coordinating follow-up efforts, maintaining accurate records, and supporting campus-wide student success initiatives. ; ; This position requires professionalism, discretion when working with confidential student information, strong communication skills, problem solving, organization, and the ability to work independently. The specialist works closely with professional staff to ensure students are connected with appropriate campus resources and support services.

Required Relevant Education & Experience
High School diploma or GED
Required Field(s) of Study
Current Indiana State University undergraduate or graduate student.
Preferred Relevant Education and Experience
  • Experience in peer mentoring, orientation, student leadership, tutoring, advising, residence life, or student organizations.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with university resources and support services.
  • Experience using databases or student information systems.

Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Student Outreach & Communication
Contact students through phone, email, text messaging, Microsoft Teams, and other approved platforms; conduct follow-up outreach for students referred through the university's Triage process; provide reminders regarding appointments, registration, financial aid, and campus resources.

Student Success Case Support
Review assigned outreach lists, document interactions, update case notes, track response rates, assist professional staff with monitoring follow-up, and identify students requiring additional intervention.

Maintain outreach records, organize student data, prepare spreadsheets, monitor outreach campaigns, compile reports, and assist with evaluating outreach effectiveness.

Support Bridge Week, Project Success programming, workshops, belonging initiatives, orientation activities, and other student success events.
