Student Office Assistant | University of KansasThe Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic provides speech-language pathology and audiology services to the KU, Lawrence, and surrounding communities. The clinic personnel comprises several clinical professors, staff, and KU undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing. Student office assistants (SOA) provide direct professional assistance to the clinic's office manager.
This includes greeting all SPLH Clinic visitors (e.g., clients, KU students, faculty) to the clinic, as well as office support as outlined below. SOAs are expected to be polite, friendly, dependable, independent, and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Due to a conflict of interest, students enrolled in the SPLH program are not eligible to apply for this position.Job Description30% - Communication & Inquiry SupportRespond to emails and phone calls, addressing routine inquiries and directing visitors or callers to the appropriate clinic or department staff.20% - General Administrative SupportPerform general office duties, including sorting mail, running errands, photocopying, scanning, and filing documents.20% - Medical Records Data EntrySupport accurate and timely data entry into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.10% - Office Maintenance & OrganizationMaintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment.10% - Front Desk & Guest RelationsGreet all visitors in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression.10% - Additional Operational SupportProvide support with additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.Required QualificationsEligible for Federal Work Study, as indicated in application materials.
