As a Structures Cad Technician, you will support structural engineers in preparing detailed construction documents for complex structures related to heavy civil and municipal projects. Horrocks provides our employees with the opportunity to Learn More, Do More, and Earn More.Core responsibilities for the role include:Prepare detailed structural drawings and construction documents for heavy civil and municipal projectsDevelop plans, sections, details, and schedules for concrete vaults, culverts, storage tanks, retaining walls, foundations, and other structural componentsDraft structural components for roadway, site civil, federal, and municipal projectsCollaborate with structural engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and timely PS&E contract documentsAssist with quantity takeoffs and preparation of cost estimatesRevise drawings based on engineer markups and internal QA/QC reviewsMaintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with company and client CAD standardsCoordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of structural elementsAssist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation and structural engineeringStructures lead for smaller projects, coordinating staff and design effortsQualifications, skills, and competencies include:Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)3 to 7 years of experience in structural or civil drafting preferredProficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation requiredExperience with Bentley software (OpenRoads, OpenBridge, STAAD models for drafting integration) a plusFamiliarity with structural detailing for concrete and steel componentsUnderstanding of civil and structural construction plans and specificationsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workWillingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices; limited travel (<10%)Why would a candidate want this job?
