Description

Volt is immediately hiring for Structured Cabling Technician in Greenville, SC.

Position type: Full Time, Contract

Duration: 6 + months Contract-to-Hire

Location: Greenville, SC

As a Structured Cabling Technician, you will:

• Install, service, maintain, repair & alter cabling to include twisted pair, coax, low voltage, CAT6, single & multi-mode fiber optic, communications, and/or other various low-voltage cable systems.
• Perform physical installation and removal of:
• Run and manage structured cabling (fiber + copper)
• Lead smaller jobs or job segments on-site
• Read and execute blueprints and construction drawings
• Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure issues
• Perform repairs and system adjustments as needed
• Ensure quality control and safety standards are followed
• Travel to job sites and transport tools/equipment
• Collaborate with team and occasionally mentor lower-level techs

This is a Full-time, Contract to Hire opportunity.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–3+ years of structured cabling experience (Level 2 caliber)
• Strong physical install experience (racks, pathways, cable trays, infrastructure)
• Can read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specs
• Experience installing and terminating: CAT6 / CAT6A
• Fiber (termination + splicing preferred)
• Proven experience with: Cable routing (j-hooks, bundles, pathways)
• Through-wall penetrations
• Can lead small projects or take ownership on-site
• Experience with testing: Cable certifier setup + results upload
• Troubleshooting and repair experience in cabling systems
• Knowledge of industry standards:
• BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, NEC
• Reliable transportation + valid driver's license

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $37.00 Per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
