Overtime is available, and some weekends may be required to meet business needs.Benefits:PTOHealth insuranceDentalVision401(k)Company partiesOUR STRUCTURAL WELDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:Following blueprints to properly plan, lay out, and fit metal components (plate stiffeners, stiffened panels, bulkheads, and frames) while maintaining alignment tolerancesAccurately locating and marking reference linesUsing tools like jacks and turnbuckles to align partsSetting, fitting, and erecting structural assemblies and modules within alignment tolerancesInstalling structural foundations and outfit items (doors, hatches, brackets, etc.)Tack welding panels, assemblies, and moreUsing machinery like ironworkers, presses, and plate rolls to roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape metal partsAccurately following instructions with minimal supervisionPerforming other duties as assignedLEARN A LITTLE ABOUT USAt SteelCon Inc., we don't just fabricate steel - we build the backbone of America's progress. These values shape our culture, guide our decisions, and create an environment where employees thrive.When you join SteelCon, you join a company committed to your long‑term success through advancement opportunities, career development, and a workplace where your contributions truly matter.QUALIFICATIONSOur Structural Welder must be able to:Adequately operate a cutting torchAdjust the welder to ensure proper feed rate and temperatureProperly operate forklifts, jib hoists, and overhead cranesLearn and use hand signals for crane operationRead, understand, and follow cutting lists, shop orders, and shop drawingsPerform general math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)Read, write, and follow semi-complicated verbal and written instructionsCommunicate with managers and co-workersSet priorities, meet goals, and work under periodic supervisionUse a tape measure/rulerFollow safety policies and take accountability for your workMultitaskRequired Abilities:Maintain American Welding Society certification on a 1-inch plate in flat position using the gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding processesPass the fillet weld break test using the gas metal arc welding processPass a basic welding test that covers shop drawing interpretation, weld symbols, welding processes, weld process symbol interpretation/application, and a visual acuity testPass a fitting test that covers shop drawing interpretation, fractional number calculations, basic geometry, etc.Do you have what it takes?
