The Structural Project Manager's main job responsibility includes delivering assigned projects on time and within budget. The individual is required to work on multiple assignments with overlapping schedules and needs to be able to multi-task to accomplish all tasks.
The Structural Project Manager will work towards becoming a Senior Structural Project Manager.Supervisory Responsibilities: The Structural Project Manager will serve as the point of contact with clients and design team members and will be representative of RLG's standards. The Structural Project Manager will direct, train and mentor other engineering staff as well assist in employee performance management practices.Essential Duties / Responsibilities: The Structural Project Manager's duties and responsibilities will fall under multiple categories including but not limited to: Technical, Communication, Leadership, and Development of Clients. These duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Prepare proposals and requests for qualificationsReview and approve project designsPrepare construction documents for supervisor review with limited supervisionReview submittals based on construction documentsConduct site visits, make field observations, and write reports according to findingsFile documentation of organized calculations for later reviewSign and seal engineering documents for managed projectsAttend meetings with clients and document meeting discussionsMonitor quality and progress of project(s)Track schedules, monitor budgets and assist in billing activitiesProactively identify new client opportunitiesMaster design and drafting software to create engineering documentsAttend site visits prior to beginning design and through construction completionPrepare and/or modify technical reports and specifications.Perform other related duties as assignedRequired Skills / Abilities:Proficient with Revit softwareKnowledge of building codes and city permitting requirementsStrong Leadership skills with the ability to teach and train other staff membersStrong Communication skills, both in person and in writingStrong Comprehension skills, both in person and writingHigh attention to detailSelf-MotivatedPositive AttitudeStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlinesEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field requiredPE or SE License requiredExperience with design and modeling softwareA general knowledge of code and permitting requirements for projectsPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift 15 pounds at timesOccasional attendance of technical events, seminars, and networking events - some travel requiredOccasional travel to project sites with potential exposure to uneven terrain and hot and cold weatherApplicants must be legally authorized to work for RLG Consulting Engineers in the U.S.
