Structural Installation SpecialistThe Structural Installation Specialist is responsible for the installation, assembly, and modification of structural components on U.S. Department of Defense construction projects. This role supports a wide range of mission-critical facilities including aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities, industrial buildings, and relocatable structures.This is a temporary-to-hire field position with the opportunity to transition to full-time, benefits-eligible employment following a successful 90-day trial period, based on performance, project needs, and compliance with company and DoD requirements.

This position will require travel.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall structural steel, pre-engineered metal building components, and modular/relocatable structural systems in accordance with project plans and specificationsPerform layout, alignment, and assembly of columns, beams, bracing, panels, and associated structural elementsRead and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and installation manualsAssist with rigging, lifting, and setting of structural members using cranes, lifts, and other equipmentCoordinate with superintendents, QC personnel, and safety staff to ensure work meets quality and safety standardsEnsure installations comply with applicable UFCs, project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and industry standardsPerform field modifications, adjustments, and repairs as requiredMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areasComply with all site-specific safety requirements, including DoD installation rulesTravel and deploy to multiple project locations as required by contract needsRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in structural installation, steel erection, or similar construction tradesAbility to read and understand construction drawings and specificationsFamiliarity with hand and power tools used in structural and metal building installationAbility to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform physically demanding tasksWillingness and ability to travel to various DoD installationsAbility to pass background checks required for access to military installationsStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience on federal or DoD construction projectsExperience with pre-engineered metal buildings, aircraft hangars, or relocatable structuresOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationForklift, aerial lift, or crane signaling certificationsFamiliarity with quality control and safety documentation requirements on federal projectsWork Environment & ConditionsOutdoor and indoor construction environmentsExposure to varying weather conditions depending on locationExtended hours, weekend work, or shift work may be required depending on project scheduleTravel and temporary lodging may be requiredEmployment Status & BenefitsThis position is initially classified as temporary-to-hireEmployees who successfully complete a 90-day trial period may become eligible for company-sponsored benefits, subject to company policy and project availabilityPer diem, lodging, and travel arrangements may be provided based on project requirements
