Engineer Structural 3 to support our Mechanical and Energetics department. As a member of the M&E department you'll get to work along side a dynamic team performing structural analysis on launch vehicles and missiles. This position will serve on-site in Chandler, AZ.
Responsibilities:
- Performs structural analysis on launch vehicle and ground support components.
- Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
- Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
- Tools will include NX CAD software and FEA.
Basic Qualifications for Engineer Structural 3:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 1 year of experience.
- Ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance, or higher.
- Strong structural analysis background with demonstrated work experience and knowledge.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Computer skills with standard word processing/spreadsheet experience.
- Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion.
Preferred Qualifications for Engineer Structural 3:
- MS, or PhD in related field.
- Active US Government Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application.
- Experience working with high performance flight structures FEMAP, NX NASTRAN finite element analysis software ANSYS, ABAQUS, and other software package experience also considered.
- Research and experience working with high temperatures, and effects in structural mechanics Thermal loading, advanced high temperature materials, structural responses, and development testing.
- Working knowledge of CMC material systems Scripting and AI use in fields of engineering and data sciences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
