Job Summary
- Sign and seal plans in jurisdictions where licensed.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on structural design, constructability, code interpretation, and field issues.
- Develop engineering standards, calculation methods, quality-control procedures, and practical repair solutions.
- Resolve construction and structural challenges while supporting clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Research building codes, new markets, software, and emerging technologies to improve engineering processes and efficiency.
- Review and approve structural designs, calculations, drawings, and engineering documentation for code compliance and quality standards.
Job Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 4+ years of structural design experience, particularly in residential wood-frame construction.
- Strong background in wood framing, roof trusses, concrete and post-tensioned foundations, and steel framing.
- Knowledgeable in IRC, IBC, ASCE, ACI, PTI, and AISC standards, with strong AutoCAD and structural software experience.
- Experience with retaining walls, ICF, forensic engineering, construction deficiencies, and engineering reports is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a professional, collaborative, and adaptable approach.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
