JOB DESCRIPTION: STRUCTURAL ENGINEERn General Expectations:n Continuously improve through education, professional training, and certification.n Represent the company in a manner that supports our mission statement.n Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence.n Treat your co-workers and clients with respect.n Communicate with honesty, openness, and transparency.n Act with integrity (honor your word), set the example, and be accountable.nn Specific Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):n Have an in-depth understanding and ability to analyze and design according to current design codes, design criteria, and structural mechanicsn Design of Permanent Structures such as bridges, sign foundations, moment slabs, MSE Walls, etc.n Design of Temporary Structures including, but not limit to:n o Formwork/Falsework Designn o Erection, Demolition, and Heavy Lift Planningn o Support of Excavation Systemsn o Load Rating and Evaluation of Existing Structuresn o Temporary Bridges and Work Trestlesn o Fall Protection Systemsn o Barge Analysisn On-Site Design Engineering Support and Inspectionsn Coordinate with Project Managers/Engineers and Owners to resolve issues.n Identify and assist with the preparation of value engineering proposals.n Assist with material and shop drawing submittals.n Assist Project Manager with project log updates and maintenance.n Assist with surveying calculations and plans.n Assist with implementation of new software (3D CAD, DatuBIM, etc.).nn Position Requirements: n Bachelors and/or Masters Degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college of university (Masters Degree or greater is preferred)n GPA above 3.0 preferredn 2+ years of relevant engineering experiencen Experience with permanent and temporary structures and/or construction engineering preferred but not requiredn PE licensure or ability to obtain once experience/testing requirements are metn Strong understanding of constructability and academic knowledge of structural engineeringn Experience with engineering design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA-3D, MathCAD, Sky Civ, etc.n Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.n Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised.n Team player and self-motivated to be successful.n Legally able to work in the US.nnn UEC does not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters, employment agencies, or staffing firmsn UEC IS PROUD TO BE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY (EOE) AFFIRMATIVE ACTION (AA) EMPLOYERnn THIS IS NOT A CONTRACT
