Our client is ready to hire a Structural Engineer to join their team! The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can manage a project with oversight from proposal phase to construction administration within Commercial Design. This position is based in Charlotte, NC, requiring the person to be onsite 1 day/week for meetings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates
- Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections
- Collaborate with architects and designers and building contractors on design and construction of projects
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD or Revit drawings from field notes
- Prepare reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- PE license would be a bonus
- Microsoft Office suite
- 2 years using drawing software
- Experience with timber framing, roof systems and helical piers
- Must have 3+ Structural Engineering industry experience, prefer commercial/industrial
- AutoCAD or Revit
Must live within 2 hours of Charlotte, NC to attend a weekly meeting
