Job Title: Structural Analysis Engineer (Nuclear)
Location: Oak Brook, IL
Pay Rate: $120,000-$215,000 (Dependent on experience)

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Nuclear) for a leading developer of next-generation microreactor systems. This would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in thermal and structural analysis of advanced reactor components looking to further their career in new nuclear technology.
- Perform thermal and structural analyses for microreactor systems using advanced FEA tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus)
- Conduct heat transfer and thermal stress evaluations under steady-state, transient, and accident-condition scenarios
- Support mechanical design activities including component sizing, material selection, and design verification
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and technical presentations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on design reviews and technical problem-solving
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline (Master's preferred); 5+ years of engineering experience
- Proven expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural analysis with experience in thermal-fluid systems, pressure vessels, and high-temperature components
- Strong computational analysis skills with demonstrated experience in FEA tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or Abaqus
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with advanced reactor systems, HTGRs, or microreactors
- Familiarity with ASME codes and standards
- Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for engineering analysis
- Experience preparing technical documentation for regulatory review
