General Purpose
Responsible for all aspects of Store operations. Leads the Store to consistently meet Company standards and best practices, staff and develop leadership, manage associates, and oversee Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor operations.
Essential Functions
- Lead all Company Best Practices to maximize productivity.
- Analyze Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall performance.
- Address variance to Company standards with an appropriate action plan, partnering with District Manager as needed.
- Ensure proper scheduling of Associates.
- Accept special assignments as directed by Leadership.
- Administer payroll, including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and Payroll reporting.
Organizational Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors, and non‑exempt Associates.
- Reduce Store turnover through selection, training and motivation, and use retention tools such as incentive programs and recognition opportunities.
- Address personnel and performance issues with coaching, disciplinary action, and termination when required.
- Ensure compliance with Ross personnel policies and all applicable regulations.
- Manage Associate Relations issues with District Manager consultation.
Expense Control
- Lead all expenditures to stay within budget.
- Control payroll hours and adjust to current business trends.
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
- Maintain adherence to Company safety policies and ensure safety of Associates and Customers.
- Ensure associates understand and execute emergency operating procedures.
Customer Service
- Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Execute Customer Service and Merchandise Presentation programs through training and supervision.
- Supervise and coach Retail Associates in providing efficient, friendly service at registers, Customer Service desk, fitting rooms, and sales floor.
Personal And Store Brand
- Lead Store Associates in professional appearance and uphold the Company Dress Code.
- Represent and support the Company brand.
- Maintain a clean, neat, easy‑to‑shop environment.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards with maintenance personnel and Ross Associates.
Merchandise Processing and In‑Store Marketing
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards.
- Present and organize merchandise according to Company guidelines.
- Urgently manage merchandise processing to the sales floor within expected timeframe.
Loss Prevention
- Train Associates on Loss Prevention programs to achieve Store shortage goals.
- Demonstrate integrity with Associates and Customers, safeguarding confidential information.
- Maintain a strong Customer Service presence on the sales floor and give heightened loss prevention awareness.
- Lead the annual inventory process, including preparation and execution of inventory guidelines.
- Monitor mark‑out‑of‑stock policy for proper administration.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Five or more years of Store management experience in a retail environment.
- Maintain a high level of Customer service.
- Lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels.
- Train, coach, and develop Associates at all levels.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to accomplish goals and execute results.
- Fluency in English.
- Use considerable independent judgment and discretion.
- Work evenings and weekends as required.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Use all Store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
- Stand, walk, and move around the Store for 100% of the working time.
- Bend at waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervision of Assistant Store Manager, Area Supervisors, and all Retail Associates.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $70,310 - $97,916. The range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package for employees; other rewards vary by position and location.
