Role Description
The Store Manager role at Food Lion in Windsor, NC is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing daily store operations and ensuring an excellent customer experience. This role includes leading and coaching associates, managing staffing and scheduling, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining merchandising standards throughout the store. The Store Manager is accountable for meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals, enforcing safety and sanitation policies, and ensuring adherence to company procedures and regulatory requirements. The role also involves resolving customer concerns, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, and partnering with local community initiatives aligned with Food Lion’s values.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Experience in retail or grocery store operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle escalations and build customer loyalty.
- Basic business acumen, including understanding of sales targets, budgeting, and loss prevention practices.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfort with point-of-sale systems and store technology; ability to learn and use new tools and applications.
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or formal training in business, retail management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in a retail, grocery, or customer-focused environment strongly preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support store operations.
