What You’ll Do
- Greet Guests with a warm welcome and a smile, delivering exceptional customer service
- Assist Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team: training, scheduling, coaching, setting clear goals, and communicating effectively
- Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotate stock, and keep products in stock
- Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations that offer hot food
- Maintain store cleanliness and appearance of interior and exterior; ensure coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms are clean
- Operate the cash register efficiently
- Assist Store Manager in hot food locations by overseeing quality control, merchandising, safety programs and related guidelines; perform other duties as assigned
Roles include opportunities for growth within EG America, which operates nearly 1700 locations across the United States.
Training Process
Managers In Training work with Training Managers and Supervising Managers during official training weeks, then with team members across shifts to learn about the company, retail team, vendors, and guests. After training, Managers In Training join the bench leadership team and may fill in during absences until assigned to their store.
Minimum Education
High School or GED
Education and Experience
- Minimum Experience: 1 year retail or food experience
- Preferred Experience: 1 year in retail, guest service or restaurant, in a leadership role
- Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills: ServSafe / Food Safety certification a plus but not mandatory
Soft Skills
- Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members
- High energy
- Ability to move from one activity to another quickly
- Team oriented; willing to give extra effort to help others
- Computer skills are helpful
Scheduling and Hours
This position is full-time and involves working a variety of hours, day and night, as EG America locations can be open 24 hours depending on the store. Weekend and holiday hours are required.
Other Details
Hours: Full-time – 40 regular hours maximum with up to 5 hours overtime. Travel: 5%. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and have own vehicle to do so. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 10-40 pounds and to stand for 8 hours, with varied temperatures in a typical store environment. Special attire required in food establishments (hats or visors, gloves, etc. provided).
