Position Summary
Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager (SM) leads the day‑to‑day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development. The SM champions a People First environment, coaching staff in personal selling, leadership and brand consistency to deliver a best‑in‑class customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Communicate performance expectations and ensure all team members understand their impact on company success.
- Coach and develop store staff, instill brand image, and maintain consistent brand representation in customer interactions and store visuals.
- Implement corporate initiatives and execute plans to achieve sales, profitability, and retail metrics.
- Maintain high customer service standards through training, outreach, and resolution of customer issues.
- Monitor sales projections and quotas; develop strategies to maximize personal and team sales.
- Analyze reports, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement process changes.
- Collaborate with other Store Managers in the area to share best practices and resources.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop talent, providing ongoing coaching in operations, sales techniques, customer service, product knowledge, inventory control, and visual merchandising.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, preserve store cleanliness, control expenses, and manage payroll and repair departments.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.
- At least 3 years of retail sales experience or 2 years retail sales plus 1 year retail management experience; preference for specialty retail or jewelry experience.
- Diamond Council of America (DCA) certification preferred.
- Advanced communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related business technology tools.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, problem‑solving, and conflict‑management skills.
- Ability to present professionally across email, social media, video conference, phone, and text.
- Organizational skills to meet deadlines and set priorities; able to delegate effectively.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Demands
Employee must stand, reach, move between display cases, sit, stoop, bend, kneel or crouch as needed, and lift up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity is required to discern gemstone quality. Standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel for training and meetings, including air travel and overnight stays, may be required.
Compensation
Base pay ranges from $24.04 to $40.72 per hour plus commission on sales; final pay is based on experience and qualifications.
