Job Description

Kalaveras is seeking an experienced, bilingual, highly motivated, and results-driven Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of one of our high-volume restaurants. This leadership position is responsible for driving sales, maximizing profitability, developing high-performing teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and ensuring operational excellence while maintaining company standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive experience managing high-volume restaurant operations, leading large teams, controlling costs, and consistently achieving financial and operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Store Manager or General Manager in a high-volume full-service restaurant.
  • Experience managing restaurants generating at least $2.5 million in annual sales.
  • Experience supervising 50 or more employees across multiple departments and shifts.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), both spoken and written, required.
  • Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs require.
  • Professional appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and leadership skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all daily restaurant operations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, develop, evaluate, and retain management and hourly team members.
  • Lead, motivate, and hold managers and employees accountable for performance and company standards.
  • Drive sales growth while maintaining profitability goals.
  • Analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly sales performance.
  • Develop and execute action plans to increase sales and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage labor budgets, staffing levels, scheduling, overtime, and productivity.
  • Control labor cost, food cost, beverage cost, operating expenses, and overall profitability.
  • Prepare, analyze, and manage operating budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing, receiving, waste reduction, and product cost controls.
  • Perform inventory analysis and investigate variances.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health department regulations, food safety standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable California labor laws.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, guest satisfaction, online reputation, average ticket, and employee performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
  • Ensure proper execution of opening, closing, cash handling, deposit, reconciliation, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Maintain all operational manuals, SOPs, checklists, forms, logs, and accountability systems.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure proper execution of promotions, marketing initiatives, community events, and company programs.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, food quality, beverage quality, safety, and hospitality.

Technical Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including:

  • PowerPoint
  • Experience using multiple POS systems, including Aloha, Toast, Micros, Square, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with labor scheduling software and workforce management systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports, P&L statements, labor reports, inventory reports, sales reports, and operational KPIs.
  • Experience creating, implementing, and maintaining operational manuals, SOPs, policies, procedures, checklists, forms, and reporting systems.
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in upscale casual or high-volume casual dining.
  • Beverage and bar operations knowledge.
  • Multi-unit management experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales, improving profitability, reducing costs, and developing successful teams.
